Forsake me with Love

making sense of abuse I experienced in what was a beautiful mentorship

The eagle was gifted with powerful sight

So that she could watch over the People.

Why did you leave me broken & feeble?

God, if you’re real, if you’re not just a concept,

Why did you break my heart?

Or perhaps you allowed the pain

To wallow inside of me 

and structurally motivate a new start.

And I know you see everything.

Still, as I’m broken,

I trust that you’re taking care of me.

For in the great tapestry that is Life,

I’m trusting in my lesson of Truth.
